Glad Horses is a 9 1/2" x 13" acrylic on masonite.
It was an inspired by a field of gladiolas on Central Road near Bronson, Michigan.


Morning Edge is a 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" acrylic on canvas.
This piece was started at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute at
the PAAWM paint-out in October, 2011.

Plein Air Artists of West Michigan (PAAWM) held their first retreat and art sale at the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, near Hastings, MI.  It was a wonderful opportunity to paint from their scenic grounds. This center has an excellent area to display art. I will be part of a three-person an art exhibit with two of my art friends, Carol Hatfield and Bev Tippmann, for September 2012-November 30.  Thanks PAAWM for a great and informative weekend.

2011 Bean Creek Valley Art Competition

These three acrylic paintings were juried into the
Bean Creek Valley Art Competition in Hudson, MI. 
Early Commute received a blue ribbon.
This event is a fund raiser for the Thompson House Museum,

get together.  The last challenge was to paint figures by concentrating first
 on the negative space around them.  My great Aunts from Missouri
posed for the photograph that I based this piece on.  This quick study
was done to help me loosen up and play with the shapes.
